Visit to Shin-edogawa Garden ..
Third day in Japan and we still can't stop exploring it. Another day began in the university, the teachers introduced us to four students of the university. We were very excited to finally interact with the Japanese students of our age. Along with the four students we visited the Shin-edogawa Garden. It was fun to mingle around with them. The garden was very mesmerising. We saw flowing and still water which signifies calmness and coolness which reflects in the Japanese people. The garden was well maintained. This showed their love for nature. The pathways were very beautifully designed. Proper safety measures were taken even while trimming the trees. Everything had its own marking. Things were perfectly on its place.
After visiting that beautiful and soothing place, we visited the Sekiguchi Basho Hermitage. This place gave all of us a sense of relaxation. It was cool. There were many steps and rocks. There was something written on the rocks which the Japanese students read for us. But the funny part was that, even they dint know the meaning of those words! We had fun clicking pictures. Dr. Sawant taught us different techniques to click pictures which really added to our photography knowledge and made our pictures all the more better.. :)
Along with the Japanese students we headed for some delicious traditional Japanese lunch. We sat on floor and our Japanese friends helped us to order food according to our tastes. We all ate the food in typical Japanese style. After finishing the yummy lunch we said good bye to our sweet, new Japanese friends. After having lot of fun it was time to attend lectures. We had a lecture on "Gender and social changes in urban Japan by Glendale Roberts". The class was very informative. Ma'am discussed about her research and case studies. It was fun understanding their life and society. We even got lots of knowledge about age of marriage, role of women and family support for handling children.
After this informative class we had a lecture on a completely different field. It was on 'Contemporary performing arts' by Hirokomikami. She discussed about a play "Happy Days" the play reflected about a women who had psychological problem. It was a very interesting class as she made use of a lot of audio visuals. And after the class we all headed to hostel.
Now we all know how to buy our own tickets and even find our own way back to the hostel. Its fun being around so many people.Day was really good and we all had fun.. :) But the sad part is that 1 more day in Japan has passed. And we just have 11 days to go.
